The History of
K2 Mountain

K2, or Godwin-Austen Mountain, is the world's 2nd highest peak, reaching 28,251 ft. It lies partly in China & Pakistan. It was discovered and measured in 1856 by Col. T.G. Montgomerie and was given the symbol K2 because it was the second peak measured in the Karakoram Range. In 1954, Italian climbers Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli became the first to reach its summit.
Tom Rogge, Manager Travis Sondgeroth, Manager Todd Lineweber, Superintendent
Tom has been in the underground utility industry since graduating high school in 1988 when he was hired by Rogge Engineering. From 1988 through 1992 Tom attended The University of Nebraska at Lincoln and worked full time, rising through the ranks from laborer to construction supervisor. In 1998, Tom changed companies to become a construction supervisor for a large underground utility company in Lincoln. While there, Tom was in charge of projects ranging in size from $100,000 to $4 million. Tom came to K2 Construction in 2002 and has been a managing partner every since.
Travis graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. In 1995, Travis was commissioned into the Regular Army and branched Engineer. While in the Army, he served at
Todd is our Trench-less Manager in charge of Underground Directional Boring and has been with K2 Construction since 2003. Todd has 27 years of experience in the construction industry. He began his career in 1980 as part of Lineweber & Sons, Inc. as directional boring operator, truck driver, crane operator and supervisor. Todd also gained experience in all types of underground utilities, directional boring, locating, heavy equipment operation and crew supervision throughout his career.

Donna comes to us with over 10 years experience in the construction industry. She has worked with an architectural firm, engineering firm, as well as several construction companies. Donna received her secretarial/IT degrees from Mid Plains Community College in
